The City Council made the facilities available to the Ministry of Health in April to facilitate the vaccination process in the municipality
Redován has started today one of the eleven vaccination points against COVID-19 established in Vega Baja. It is in the Center for the Third Age that the City Council made available to the health authorities in April with all the security guarantees established due to the pandemic. The Councilor for Health, Marisol Ibáñez, explained that for Redován it was important to have this space “in which to facilitate the vaccination process for our neighbors.”
Ibáñez recalled that it is very important “that all people have updated data on the SIP card.” This is because the vaccination appointment is sent through a text message, “so that each card must have a mobile number associated with it for the appointment to be received.” For this reason, the councilor has made an appeal to the population so that if they know of an elderly person who has not been vaccinated “they must communicate in the health center so that their vaccination can be carried out.” Data can also be updated through the website on the vaccination process enabled by the Ministry of Health https://coronavirus.san.gva.es/ca/web/vacunacion/inicio.
Marisol Ibáñez has stated that “we want the percentage of the vaccinated population to be the maximum, depending on the doses that are sent, because it depends on it that we recover a certain normality, although there is still a lack of so that our life can be as it was before the pandemic”. The City Council recalls the need to continue with protective measures, especially hand hygiene and the use of a mask, “because the effort we have made has been very great and we cannot relax and lose it.” Redován has been for several weeks with hardly any cases of COVID-19 and the Health Department notified only 19 during the previous week, “and for that reason from the City Council we appreciate that great effort made to all citizens.”

- The City Council produces three videos showing that all kinds of products and services can be accessed without having to travel.
In Redován I have everything’ is the slogan of the campaign launched by the Redován Town Council to boost consumption in the municipality and promote the local economy. “It is very important that after everything we have been through, first the Dana, then the pandemic, and the economic crisis in which we find ourselves, caused by both disasters, the citizens of Redován take into account that our town has a wide range of products and services, and as the video says, if they don’t have it, they bring it to you without having to look for it outside”, says the mayoress, Nely Ruiz.
This campaign consists of three videos. The first has already been broadcast on different municipal communication channels and is related to trade. The second, related to the customs of Redovan and focused on the hotel and catering industry, has just been circulated through various social networks. And the third, which will arrive at the end of the year, will be dedicated to traditions, focusing on the typical Redovan Christmas sweets that are famous beyond the borders of the municipality. In all cases the videos have been produced with the support of the Costa Blanca Tourist Board of the Alicante Provincial Council “and the aim is to promote our local products, which are many and of high quality, because we often go out to look for things that we can find in our shops,” said the mayor of Commerce and Markets, Maite Martinez.
Martínez recalled that the Town Council, within its means, has put in place “all the economic aid that has been made available to us from higher institutions, but we also felt that it was necessary to generate a feeling of belonging to a group among the people of Redovan, a group of which each of us who live here forms part and in which we must help each other”. For her part, the councillor for the hotel and catering industry, Clara Ezcurra, considered that this sector “which has suffered above all from the closures and curfews, has the support of the Town Council in everything we can do”. That is why the hotel and catering industry, as part of our customs, is also a protagonist in this campaign.
Ezcurra has encouraged consumption in bars and restaurants in Redován, and recalled that one of the support measures that has been adopted in the coming months has been the pedestrianisation of streets and squares to encourage consumption in these establishments. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of both the product and the people who struggle every day to open their businesses in Redován. “The videos are dynamic, as is the dynamic society of Redovan, and with them we also want to send out a message of hope, because together we are going to get out of this crisis as we have got out of previous ones,” concluded the mayoress.

- The individual was caught with items allegedly stolen from the cars broken into on Sunday morning.
Officers of the Redován Local Police arrested on Sunday afternoon the alleged perpetrator of several robberies with force inside vehicles in the municipality. Some of these criminal acts had taken place in the vicinity of the Via Ferrata de Redován, which had generated alert among the people who come to practice sport in this unique space in the Vega Baja and now they can be calm, because the alleged perpetrator has been captured.
The arrest took place at around seven o’clock on Sunday afternoon, when the agents, after an intense search, found the individual of Algerian origin who is allegedly responsible for several thefts inside vehicles that took place that morning. Apparently, the man took advantage of the fact that the owners were not around to break the windows of the cars and gain access to the interior in order to get hold of personal belongings and any cash he could find. It was the owners of the vehicles who alerted the Local Police, and who also provided the officers with the man’s physical characteristics and clothing.
On the arrival of the patrol, the individual fled on a bicycle along various rural roads, so a search was initiated, which ended in the vicinity of Redován when the police intercepted a person who matched the description provided by the witnesses and who was later confirmed as the alleged perpetrator of the crime. At the time of his capture, the detainee was riding a bicycle in which he was carrying two bags with different construction tools, allegedly used to break into vehicles, two mobile phones, kitchen utensils and 300 euros in cash, which he could not prove his ownership. For all these reasons, he was apprehended by the agents and placed at the disposal of the Guardia Civil for his subsequent transfer to the judicial authority.

- The infrastructure has a budget of 1.2 million euros, of which the Diputación will provide 950,000 and the City Council will assume the rest.
Redován is closer to having an indoor sports pavilion in the B-4 sports area. The mayoress of Redován, Nely Ruiz, presented the project today together with the councillor for Sports, Ramón López and the rest of the municipal government, and announced that the future pavilion will be dedicated to the Military Emergency Unit (UME). The councillor pointed out that “we believe that if there is anyone who has to thank the UME for their work, it is the people of Redován, because our relationship was already close, but it was strengthened, especially after the help they gave us during the hurricane of September 2019”. For this reason, the event was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Olaf Clavería, battalion chief of the BIEM III (Emergency Intervention Battalion) of the UME of Valencia and deployed in the area during those days, together with the colonel of the Marine Infantry and sub-delegate of the Ministry of Defence in the province of Alicante, Juan Bosco Montero, and the lieutenant colonel and head of the Recruitment area, Luis Miguel González.
The sub-delegate of Defence, Juan Bosco, recalled the work carried out by the UME for fifteen years, when it was created, and thanked the town of Redován for dedicating this pavilion to a unit “that has earned its prestige through its day-to-day work”. The representative of the Ministry of Defence in the province recalled that it is the job of this body to raise awareness of the Armed Forces among the population, “what we are, what we do and where we are, because we are at the service of all Spaniards”.
Nely Ruiz recalled that the total budget for the work amounts to 1.2 million euros “of which 950,000 euros, divided into three annual payments, are included in the works plans of the Provincial Council of Alicante, while the rest, around 21.5% of the work, will be paid for by the Town Hall”. The mayoress said that this pavilion “is what is missing from the wide range of outdoor sports facilities that we have in Redován and will allow our teams to have an indoor facility when necessary”. He also assured that the design “is modern, functional, and meets all the conditions that were required”.
The councillor for Town Planning, José Nájar, explained that this work not only involves the construction of a sports hall, “but the project has been carried out taking into account the existing buildings in the sports area, as well as the development of the plot and the improvement of the accesses, providing them with all the necessary accessibility measures. Nájar pointed out that at all times the priority has been “the integration of the pavilion with its surroundings, which will mean a more attractive and improved space than the one that exists at present”. With this, he comments that “there will be a substantial improvement in the whole of the adjacent area which will benefit both those who come to play sport and those who live in or pass through the area”.
The Sports Councillor, Ramón López, said that the pavilion’s built surface area amounts to 2,102.72 square metres within the total sports area of 6,960 square metres. The facilities include two stands with 504 seats, as well as stairs, walking areas, male and female toilets, two changing rooms for athletes with showers and toilets, another two for referees with showers and toilets, storage room and other facilities necessary in a building of this type. “In addition, there is an open-air athletics circuit on the perimeter of the building,” he said. López emphasised the accessibility of the facilities, “because we have carried out works to make other spaces in the municipality more accessible, and this pavilion has been designed from the outset so that everyone, regardless of their mobility, can enjoy it”. The councillor added that the upper strip of the pavilion has been prepared with LED lighting that will be illuminated in a different colour each month to highlight different social causes.

Redován 04/9/2021. The Redován Senior Citizen Center will be the epicenter of vaccination in the municipality once the massive vaccination campaign against Covid-19 for different population groups begins, from the Ministry of Health. The Redován City Council has made this building available to health officials "because it is central, it has enough space and we consider it to be the most suitable place in our municipality for this campaign," said the Councilor for Health, Marisol Ibáñez.
"As soon as we received the call from Health, a few days ago, from the City Council we have put ourselves to work so that everything is clean, disinfected and ready for vaccination," added the mayor. Last Thursday the mayor, Nely Ruiz, visited these facilities together with the heads of the Department of Health with head at the Vega Baja Hospital to finalize the details. The first councilor has assured that "from the Redován City Council we are at the disposal of the health authority with all the means at our disposal, because we are aware that leaving behind this crisis that has already lasted for more than a year passes by having as soon as possible vaccinated most of the population ”.

- The group chose the Redován Town Hall to present its charity calendar, the proceeds of which will go towards the purchase of therapeutic material
The association for people with functional diversity ‘El árbol de los sueños’ (The tree of dreams) presented its activity today in the plenary hall of Redován Town Hall. The Consistory has given its facilities to this organization born in the municipality that aims to provide support and facilitate access to therapies for people with disabilities. At the same time, its members have taken the opportunity to present their solidarity calendar and to inform about all the initiatives they are developing in the municipality.
The president of the association, María Isabel Cartagena, appeared alongside María del Pilar Heredia, secretary, and Javier Andreo, treasurer. “We wanted to make ‘El árbol de los sueños’ officially known and for people to know what we do,” explained Cartagena. For this reason, he thanked “the City Council, its mayoress, Nely Ruiz, and the Department of Social Welfare led by Marisol Ibáñez, for their collaboration and for giving us the opportunity to do so from this press room,” he added.
“The entire proceeds from our activities are destined to defray the costs of materials for our children’s therapies, as we have not yet been able to access any subsidies,” said the president. The association has been active in the municipality for four months, and has a space in the Centro Social de la Tercera Edad de Redován. The solidarity calendar features, by way of presentation, “all those who make up the association, including some of our children and also the therapists and staff who carry out the therapies,” said María del Pilar Heredia. The Redován Local Police officers were also involved, “and we would like to thank them immensely for their collaboration, as our children had some unforgettable moments while the photographs were being taken,” she said. The calendar will cost 5 euros, and those who wish to purchase it can find it in the offices of the association, in the Town Hall, and in various collaborating businesses in the municipality.
In addition to the calendar, ‘El árbol de los sueños’ has various initiatives underway to raise funds, such as charity raffles, the sale of cloth sanitary masks “approved and available in various sizes, with a price of 5 euros,” said its treasurer, Javier Andreo. There has also been a distribution of solidarity piggy banks in the shops of the municipality “so that anyone who can lend a hand, can do so in an easier and closer way, while carrying out their daily shopping,” added Andreo. In the same way, and on the occasion of Father’s Day, this Friday will be held a draw for a bathroom furniture, “for which you can request ballots in exchange for a donation of 2 euros both in the association and in the hairdresser Navoder or Carpentry Illán Ortega de Redován”.
For her part, the mayoress of the municipality, Nely Ruiz, congratulated the members of the association for the important work they carry out, “which is nothing more than fighting for these children to have all the opportunities available to them”. Ruiz added that “as the Town Hall, it is our job to help in any way we can with any initiative that benefits all the people of Redovan, as is the case with ‘El árbol de los sueños'”. The councillor hopes that this journey that has just begun will be prolonged and consolidated over the years “because all help is little for people who, due to functional diversity, need to make a greater effort than others in their learning and development processes, and with the work of associations such as ‘El árbol de los sueños’ they achieve this”.
