Argaric culture
In the millennium II. A.C., the peninsula is divided into several cultural circles, among which the so-called “Algar Culture” stands out in the southeast.
The prelitoral depression, an area rich in pasture, hunting and arable land, irrigated by the waters of the Segura, but exposed to frequent floods, attracted the attention of the colonizers, who chose to establish highlands under floods and easily defensible (Bancalico de The Moors, Rincón and Cabezo de Redován).
At that time an advance in agricultural techniques was almost parallel to that represented in the Argar: profusion of sierras-sickle, hand mill, tombs and other common instruments in argaric deposits.
