The Annual Climbing Meeting will bring together in the town lovers of climbing, hiking or base jumping and the well-known climbers Iker and Eneko Pou

Redován will become the mountain sports capital of the Valencian Community on the weekend of 21-23 October. Those days will be celebrated in the municipality, with the Sports Centre Lo Pasos as ‘base camp’, the Annual Climbing Meeting of the Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing of the Valencian Community. An event that has the involvement of the Redován Mountain Club and the collaboration of the Redován Town Council. The Councillor for Sports, Ramón López, recalled that “our mountain range is a very popular and nationally known place for the practice of mountain sports, because of its magnificent characteristics and our great weather, which allows sports all year round”.

The main day of the Annual Mountain Meeting will take place on Saturday 22nd October, although it will begin on Friday 21st with the opening of the hostel and camping area at the Los Pasos Sports Centre from seven o’clock in the evening. On Saturday, from eight o’clock in the morning, the reception and registration of participants will continue, and at half past eight the activities will begin (climbing, hiking, via ferrata, etc.). At 9 a.m. there will be a base jumping exhibition and at 7 p.m. the well-known climbers Iker and Eneko Pou will give a conference entitled ‘Aupa Pou: A life on a rope’. There will also be time for solidarity, with a charity raffle and a concert to close the day on Saturday. On Sunday morning, the 23rd will begin with sporting activities from early in the morning, and the meeting will culminate with the trophy presentation at midday.

“Everything has been prepared so that those who come to participate can stay at the Los Pasos sports centre, where they will have everything they need to spend the weekend,” said Ramón López, who assured that “this meeting will also be very positive for the economy of our town, as participants will have the opportunity to shop in our shops and taste our cuisine in the restaurants and bars.
